2019 Officers & Directors Election Process

This is to formally announce the commencement of the 2019 Marine Corps Mustang Association Officer and Director Elections. The MCMA continually needs new leaders with the motivation and dedication to reinforce our survival as the term of current Officers and Directors comes to close.  This is your opportunity to take a more active role within the MCMA by being a part of the leadership team responsible for our continued growth and sustainment. All positions are for a 3-year term, are not full-time positions, and only require your time and energy as available.  All routine business is conducted by email, quarterly conference calls and the annual membership meeting. Additionally, there are “turnover” jackets in place to help in the transition of new officers and board members. Election results and swearing in of new officers will be held at this year’s annual Muster in Branson, Missouri, from Sep 17, 2019 – Sep 22, 2019.

We will hold elections for Vice President, Secretary, and nine (9) Directors.

Position powers and duties are outlined in the Bylaws which can be found in the member's area of our website at www.MarineCorpsMustang.org. The process for submitting for an officer or director position is outlined as follows:

  • A candidate must be a current/paid member in good standing
  • A candidate must be cognizant of the position description and willing to discharge the duties to which elected to
  • Candidates must submit a 125 word (or less) statement to the position they seek

including information on the candidate’s willingness to serve accompanied by a recent photo. Email the statement and photo to BusinessMngr@MarineCorpsMustang.org no later than July 21, 2019.

  • Ballots for the Elections will be forthcoming in future correspondence via the MCMA website and/or email. The ballot will consist of a listing of the names of the candidates for each position.

An invitation is extended to interested candidates to attend the next Board of Directors’ Meeting via conference call to be held on Saturday, July 13, 2019 for the purpose of gaining an understanding of the format and conduct of Board of Directors’ meetings, and still allow you time to submit your application for the office of interest.

Additionally, candidates may request a copy of the continuity folder for each position open and up for election. Send your request to Secretary@MarineCorpsMustang.org indicating which position you’re interested in.

Whether you are still on active duty or retired, we recognize individual member limitations in taking on additional commitments but many of those limitations can be overcome using the same personal skills that earned you the distinct honor of becoming a Mustang in the officer ranks. This is your Mustang Association and now is the time for those with a yearning to lead to step-up and help us build the MCMA into the illustrious membership organization it has the potential to be.  Attendance at the muster in Branson is not a requirement for office but a truly great opportunity for you to look behind the scenes and meet the membership.

Listed below are the current Officers and Directors positions that are open for the upcoming election that we need your support for. These Marines have served you and the Association loyally beyond the normal call of duty and it’s time for them to step down. They would be happy to answer any questions you may have about their duties and responsibilities with the MCMA. Please reach out to them if interested.
